Nov. 24th, 2004 @ 11:15 am I have a poem...
Current Mood: creative

Let me know what your thoughts, feelings, etc. are...

Last Resort, First One Taken

Scarlet blood smeared across a thin, faded mattress
Drips
Drops
Splatters

An ivory cardigan is marred by innocence.
No, naivety...
Despair.
Anger.
Contempt.

Her mind: the war,
Her wrist: the front line,
The weapon of choice: a blade, carefully positioned,
Slices her silky pink flesh,
And another thread is spun into her red lace of hate.
One more, she thinks...
She wonders what heaven’s like.
With each slash
There is less pain,
There is less life,
Till the window’s fogged, and the image wanes,
And there is nothing
But a battered radio humming bleak Pink Floyd

And scarlet blood smeared across a thin, faded mattress
Dripped
Dropped
Splattered

A young girl is marred by innocence.

I have come to the conclusion that either a) you are really really wierd or b) that was a poem.

If the latter is correct I'd like you to know how much I enjoyed reading it... I love poetry, so much so I made my own community:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/the_drunk_poet

(It isn't strictly about poetry because I wanted other people to post stuff as well (well, Tanya) and she's not a poet, well she tried once but it didn't really work)

It's mostly haikus and stuff... I got some real poetry under the bed but I'm not sure if I'm ready to show the world... they might be reading you see. Am I the first to come up the concept of a haiku diary? I thought it was ingenius... I got this little book and then everyday (under the date) I write in the daily haiku... brilliant!

And when I'm older I can show my grandchildren and they all squeel 'Gee Grandma, you were really wierd when you were younger.'
That'll be the day, that'll be the day.

Hope everyone's doing dandy... I know I kind of promised an essay about the themes of bohemianism in film but I never really got round to writing it because I had like all these film scripts I need to write and then I still have my novella to edit and paintings that need finishing and my rooms a mess and I can't find anything I forget a lot of the time... and I'm sorry. I will get round to writing it... eventually, even if that is if I ever get into college and I can hand it in as an essay for film studies and kill two birds with one stone! Wey hey!

or c) all of the above.

eee a poetry club!! that sounds like fun!
I haven't had a haiku diary... most any other kind of journal though (song, story, story idea, poetry [all], thoughts, conversations, love journals, and then various stories I tried to write), so that is original from my standpoint.

be not distressed about what you can't do... but joyful about what you can do... In other words, that's okay that you haven't written it yet, because whenever you get around to it we'll be here to read it!
